I am staying at Conrad Abu Dhabi in June... it was either 600AED for the cheapest room or 900AED for the cheapest Level 45 room. I splurge all the time with rental cars, especially in Germany (no speed limit, ya know?), but never with hotels and I'm hoping this hotel will be an experience.
I didn't expect an upgrade from the regular room to Level 45 so I went for Level 45 and maybe I'll be upgraded from there as a Diamond? Anybody get that?
At the Conrad Makkah this past Dec, there were no metal detectors -- I'm guessing due to the sheer amount of people in the immediate area, it will be impossible to screen everyone without huge lines.
Anyway, I checked my booking and I booked a "KING DELUXE ROOM" which appears to be just a sea view room without the long lounger. From the pictures, I was upgraded to the "KING GRAND PREMIER ROOM WITH SEA VIEW" room on the 44th floor. I believe I have a high floor noted as a preference in my HH account as the check in agent said we upgraded you based on your preferences and thanked me for being a Diamond member.
