It's absolutely not a suite, but it's their much praised business class seat that was winning awards before the QSuite arrived on scene. There are forum regulars who find the QSuite more constraining and less comfortable.

Having flown in both, I personally do not have a strong preference, but I would probably encourage someone who hasn't flown both old and new to try both if they have the opportunity. Specifically in the A380 the J window seats have additional storage space and the bar is also worth trying if you've never done that sort of thing before.
