Oddly, while I am aware that Discover will process over Diner's (and JCB and UnionPay) I've tried it at many places outside of the US where they claim to accept diners and it didn't work. I didn't recall seeing the Diner's logo at the supermarket chains in Australia, which was why I was surprised. Now that I know for next time, I'll use my Discover there!
