Fighting with the security personnel won't help. There is a rule across the country at all airports that you cannot exit once you have entered. If you have to exit then you must be escorted by a member of the airline or security staff & they have to report the reason for your exit, such as a missed flight or denied boarding or illness, etc.

Most of the time I haven't had to wait more than a couple of minutes in line. Sometimes at T3 the lines can be long but even then the max I have ever waited is about 10 minutes. There is no bag screening at the door.
