Let's hope one of the frequent travel bloggers (such as View From The Wing, One Mile At A Time, Loyalty Lobby, or Points Guy) sees this thread and runs a story.
Triada Palm Springs, Autograph Collection deserves some bad publicity (I know I won't stay there).
More importantly, Marriott Bonvoy, its social media organization, and its member support organization deserve bad publicity. I suppose it's unavoidable that there will be incidents where a Front Desk Manager at specific property is mistaken, but it's completely unacceptable when representatives of Marriott corporate tell members that the hotel is right, when Terms & Conditions clearly show the hotel is wrong. Instead, documented compensation should be paid properly and quickly, accompanied by a sincere apology for the inconvenience. The penalties are supposed to hurt the properties so that they don't alienate elite members again.
