Booking is under my wife (Titanium), hoping to get better room but we are not holding our collective breath.

Have a few questions and if anyone can share any experience/pointers, we would appreciate it:
1. We will likely arrive from Kanazawa, either to Haneda airport or to Tokyo station (Hakutaka bullet train), undecided yet. What's the best way to get there with public transport? I tried different time searches on Jorudan and most results show highway bus from Shinjuku to Lake Yamanaka. Once we get to Asahigaoka at the lake, is it easy to get a cab to the hotel?

2. Does the hotel have a shuttle? Does the hotel have email address perhaps to their front desk staff or concierge team? We have lots of questions surrounding transportation.

3. I have an IDP, so I can rent a car, but a little apprehensive about driving on the other side. I did it - but have not driven on the other side for 26 years now.

4. Is it easy to get a cab FROM the hotel, and TO the hotel, from Lake Yamanaka and Lake Kawaguchiko?

5. What are the bus options TO and FROM the hotel? Are there even any?

Chureito pagoda is on my wife's bucket list, and we are thinking of using this mid week stay as a base, but the transportation seems challenging. I can also book at Fuji Speedway. I think with my Globalist status, I'd get good treatment there but Fuji speedway seems even further out from Lake Kawaguchiko area. Fuji Speedway front desk did replied to my email and suggested that they can arrange cabs from and to the hotel if we call them. The other options that we consider are private tour and chartering a car with English-speaking driver.

Thank you in advance!
Fuji is definitely way further. Look … in all honesty, you should try to drive if you can. Marriott to Chureito is 20km, which won’t be cheap by taxi. Taxis can generally be ordered in that area fairly easily as it’s a touristy area, but 20km each way won’t be cheap, not to mention having to fight with other tourists at Chureito to get one back. Hiring a driver could be a better option if you don’t drive. However check their access directions (Japanese site is fuji-marriott.com, use Google translate) for directions how to get there by public transport.

That said, the locals have been pretty much conditioned to give a wide berth to any car with a わ or a れ on their license plate (which means a rental), so I wouldn’t worry TOO much. Plus driving in that area is SLOW - you’re unlikely to exceed 40 km/h because of all the traffic.
