Purchased Business Class on KLM Website, but one leg in Main Cabin
In December, I purchased (KLM website) a nonrefundable standard business class fare from DUB>AMS>SLC>JAC open jaw TUS>SLC>AMS>DUB.
When I went to book my seats on the two DL operated flights, I noticed 1 of the segments was in main cabin. I didn't cancel because the airfare was so cheap for highest summer season transatlantic (€1600). But I wonder why this happened without any notice that I was purchasing anything less than business class.
I looked at the flight in question and it has a premium cabin with tons of space (Operated by DELTA AIR LINES, DL2176 Airbus A319 Duration: 1h04, Main Cabin)
But the other short segment I'm in the Delta One premium cabin (Operated by SKYWEST DBA DELTA CONNECTION FOR DELTA AIR LINES, DL3606 Embraer 175 Duration: 1h52, Delta One)
I alerted the platinum line that I expected business class on all segments, and they said they didn't understand why it had happened and would send a query. (But since the flights are so far away, it might take some time to hear anything back.
So my questions:
1) How often do KLM sell mixed class fares when purchasing a business fare (I almost always fly economy)?
2) Is my pending query likely to result in an upgrade Delta One seat on that flight?
3) In the event I want to cancel (e.g. if my plans change), is KLM likely to refund my nonrefundable ticket if I use this issue?...tell them I feel duped into buying a mixed fare ticket?
Also, KLM estimates 98 XP for this trip, which means they are only granting 2XP (economy) for this segment, but my itinerary states i have the business class baggage allowance on all flights.
