Yeah, I have found ANA domestic booking super patchy with both cash and award bookings since the pandemic. For the flights I've taken and future bookings I can't get anywhere I want to go via TYO on ANA, can only route through ICN or TPE. Not a huge deal because I'll spend the night in Tokyo on either end of the flight from/to YVR anyway so I'm not overly worried about the protection, and such a connection on an award ticket would cost 20k points being bumped into the next price bracket.
If you have any Avios lying around there's plenty of JAL availability, but also cash tickets are super cheap.
Another idea on this - do you know if it's possible to book an ANA cash fare through AC and then combine on the same PNR as my award flight? Would prefer not to stay another night in Tokyo before my international flight, so really looking for a way to get IRROPS protection without paying 20k more miles per person.
