Going to Chable Maroma soon - how easy is it to taxi/Uber to the town? Is there anything interesting to do in town? We're not interested in the tasting menu, and the a la carte options are the property seem lacking in variety, not to mention aggressively priced.
When you say town do you mean Playa del Carmen? Maroma is 30 mins or so drive, no Uber, taxi is probably $30 each way? I don't know the actual amount but the rates are supposed to be fixed. Hotel can call one for you, and there are taxi stands with the prices posted in Playa del Carmen.
It is a typical tourist beach town, shopping, dining, hawkers. We go for the tacos - El Fogon is the most famous and is very good but there is a taco stand/truck called Ay Taco across from the Walmart that has served me the best tacos of my life. Salsas are incredible.
