One thing I'm curious about - when a BA staff member is using staff standby to get back from holiday (and is due back at work for BA) but through no fault of their own is unsuccessful in getting a seat despite leaving a reasonable time, what do BA do? Do they have to buy a revenue seat or are things done to help them?
As somebody else mentioned earlier, I’ve heard as well that if BA staff are not able to come back in time to resume their duties BA could potentially dismiss them. There isn’t such a thing as calling sick - as if you are on staff travel unfortunately the Company knows where you are
