Here is what I do--all online--and easy.
1. Cancel the existing flight and choose the option to credit the funds to "My Wallet"
2. Then book the "new" lower cost flight using "Wallet Funds."
3. The difference in price between the two flights remains as a net credit in your "Wallet Funds" account
