There was a Comfort Inn at 2430 Newport Ave in Costa Mesa some years ago. It never served the standard Comfort Inn breakfast, I remember it serving cubes of choose among other things. In mid-2012, it completely remodeled and turned into a BLVD Hotel (part of a local very small chain), then it rejoined Choice as an Ascend Hotel Collection hotel (still named BVD Hotel), and then in mid-2021 it reflagged again to OC Hotel (presumably no longer part of any local chain) and is longer a part of Choice.

For some reason, in this case TripAdvisor has separate OC Hotel and BLVD Hotel reviews. The BLVD Hotel reviews actually include Comfort Inn reviews in July 2012 and earlier.
