My flight got changed by a few hours which allowed me to change it by up to a few days on the site. One leg was Flex (~$130 diff from Standard) and the other was Standard.

I decided to change dates for work reasons and changed my flight to Latitude which I then upgraded to J. Almost double the price but decided to treat my family member to their first J class flight (Signature).

I got charged $300 change fee for the Standard leg for the two flights. Could I have used the fact that AC changed the flight to make change without the fee or is it outside the change window (changed my flight by almost 2 weeks)?
