AFAIK pitch-wise rows 1 and 9 have the same pitch as any other J seat on the 777-300s which have J seats in rows 1 and 9. I don't recall OMAAT's reports saying the pitch was better in those rows.
On the 777-300s with 48 J seats, rows 1 and 9 do have more room than the other seats, but that's a matter of the width of the space in front of the seat, since there's no seat in front.
Note that if you're not FB elite and can pick seats in row 9, you're probably not flying the new configuration (which is only on 3, maybe 4, planes and only operating select frequencies and routes).
