Having tried the PE seat on HEL-LHR flight last year, I flew my first longhaul in AY PE recently. Lately most of my long flights have been in J but for a 6h day flight HEL-DXB the PE seat was perfectly fine.
I chose row 23 on the A350 which is the last row of the small PE cabin. Seat reclined normally and as there is no one behind I kept the seat reclined for the whole flight. Legroom didn't feel cramped and the table was nice and steady. While the entertainment screen is of good size, there is also a handy holder for phone or iPad to watch you own content. Even better than the J seat in this aspect. There were noise cancelling headphones (same as business), a blanket and a Marimekko branded neck support pillow on the seat upon boarding. I didn't see anyone use the pillow during the flight though.
Service was very much economy like. They served drinks and nuts after takeoff and very quickly afterwards the first meal with another round of drinks. The crew seemed unsure which drinks were complimentary and which one had to pay for. No service between the meals until 1,5h before landing a small sandwich was served.
AY1963 HEL-DXB PE meal. Vegetable starter. Chicken, mushroom and rice main course. Chocolate muffin dessert. Surprisingly many passengers had pre-ordered the main course, which is a nice feature in PE. The two options online or onboard were fish or chicken.
AY1963 HEL-DXB PE second meal. Tomato and mozzarella sandwich. Not very premium or tasty.
