There are a ton of properties in that part of SF (near Union Square), and Adagio isn't exactly in the ideal location, unless you like stepping in sidewalk feces. Westin St. Francis would be my Bonvoy choice for Union Square, and they'll at least put you up in a junior suite.
Yeah, you really gotta watch where you step around there! The Westin and the Marriott a block north on Sutter are my preferred properties around Union Square. The Adagio worked this time for a cheap weekend getaway at $119/night + taxes.
