In this
POST you mentioned that Citi told you why the application was denied. Why are you looking for a different explanation? What was the outcome of the application for the Barclays AA business card?
Yes, but I got a call from my Citigold RM about another issue and when I asked for help about this - he went to work. I then got a second version of the declined story and now apparently the RM side is trying to work with me to get this issue refloated.
I tried to search for my original post but didnt find it, thanks for digging it up. I didnt recall if I had posted here or on the AA forums.
My Barclays application was denied at first... but after 2 calls it turns out that it was not a hard denial, credit approved it but then the KYC department vetoed the approval because they wanted to verify some additional personal information. I called the other department, verified what they wanted and my new card is on the way. Having said this, I will still try to see if I can refloat the Citi application as I already took the hard credit check and wont mind having 2 business credit cards.
In any event, the lesson until now appears to be that when you are initially declined, you need to call at lease a couple of times and play the angles - it appears to pay off at times, more so if you can get leads/tips from others that have gone down similar path.
I hope the above clarifies why I am again (seemingly) beating the dead horse.....
