If you want to go the CTA route, then I wouldn't touch the e-coupon which I believe is valid for several years anyway (watch AC pull a fast one and put a 6 month expiry to force customers to accept their "settlement" instead of receiving the compensation they deserve). Yeah it'll take longer but if it comes out that AC denied you compensation you were owed for bogus reasons, it'll be yet another nail in the coffin against airlines using excuses to avoid their mandated duty of care to consumers.
