I've done EXT-DUB a few times recently and would agree your original plan was probably too tight with checked luggage, even though I have a fairly high risk tolerance for self-connects! Although this flight tends to land 10-20mins early, it parks at T1 then you are bussed to T2 arrivals. The wait for checked bags to arrive on the belt can also sometimes be long. And of course you would've had to re-check your bag with BA over in T1 at least 45mins before your 13:05. I can confirm EI at EXT will honour the checked bag allowance with no issue if booked on the BA codeshare though. Crediting tier points when booking via the BA code seems a faff - never credits automatically, the claim form doesn't work and after two live chats and a complaint form, I'm still waiting for my most recent flight on this route on 9th January to be credited!
