I flew from BNA recently, no idea which 787 model it was but my experience was very similar to OP. I was sitting in Y and service was slow. It was a 7h night flight and at 1h40min into the flight dinner service still hadn't happened. So by the time it was all done/cleared I think there was about 4-4.5hrs of flight left. Considering they put the lights back on at least an hour ahead of landing that really did leave us with very little time to try and sleep.
I was very jealous of the guy next to me who went to sleep pretty much the moment he sat down (skipped all services) and woke up about 30mins from landing.. (in a 787 Y seat!!) I wish I could that !
