Wrapping up a 3 night stay here. Did one night on best available rate, and two on the free weekend ambassador night rate. Averaged about 4500 TWD/night.

Overall was a pleasant stay, quite comfortable. The AC was fine. Free self parking. Breakfast was quite nice. Attentive service with many quality, tasty options. Some choices felt cheap - instead of proper in-house made dim sum, pre-packaged Chimei frozen buns and dumplings were served, just reheated in a steamer.

I see what others have said about cheap/tacky materials, but they aren't noticeable unless you pay attention. I found the overall effect pleasant.

A few odd bits that stood out to me:
- Some of the housekeeping staff seem to be underage looking foreign labour (mid teens?) - I heard Vietnamese? spoken when they came by for turndown service
- The pool has a policy of requiring a pool cap - which are available for purchase but quite pricey.
- The 599NTD ambassador voucher is probably best used in the Japanese bar, as a previous reviewer mentioned. I applied mine to some minibar items. Not valid for the on site bakery/gift shop. If you plan to visit the restaurants, the voucher cannot be used in conjunction with the 15% IHG member discount.
