Apart from whether it's vulgar, I'm always a bit concerned about flashing my name and/or account number to anyone that wants to know. (It's not that difficult to get address details, etc)

I usually put the tags into a leather tag holder. That way you get the baggage tracing benefits of the airline, and no one needs to see your details.
