It’s creepy, it’s tacky, and a very unpleasant development ; one which I suspect has largely come about (as so many others have already indicated upthread) by way of US influence. Either way - and unless the airlines choose to formally prohibit employees from accepting such items - it is almost certainly set to grow in the age of tik-tok / social ‘meeja’
