unless the plane is loaded with Philippine government paid business class passengers the chance of securing the UG at lowest set bid is very high. Use ExpertFlyer to look at availability near departure date.
I’ve bid low and never failed. Indeed IIRC you used to be able to nominate your bid. Recall getting Manila to Macau for US$50 which covered the excess baggage I needed
I’ve done several PAL business class flights in the last month. TBH I’m getting irritated with a full business cabin whilst the back of the plane is empty. This UG bid nonsense Devalues fully paid business fares.
It was so bad KUL to MNL recently that I moved back in to 3 empty economy seats!
T2 Manila in British English vernacular is a Shi…. The business lounge is like something in China in the 1990’s
hard product is good as are crew. Food variable at best. Champagne can be good but I’ve had a couple of flights where it has been oxidised due probably to poor storage during Covid. Rawsons Retreat as business class red is a joke.
