Looking to book 2 J seats BKK-SEA at the end of calendar on a specific date in a couple weeks when the date becomes bookable. I've been monitoring availability to hopefully have a plan and be ready with options. BKK-NRT-SEA would be ideal, but availability on the BKK-NRT leg has been really sparse and I'm not counting on that one. An option with more consistent availability seems to be BKK-HND-SFO, then continuing to SEA on Alaska.
Alaska's search engine is giving me really weird results. Using 1/15/24 as an example, the BKK-HND and HND-SFO flights show up fine on AA, but are only showing up on Alaska if I first search using calendar view (which is a trick I read about in this thread). But then the multi-city search isn't showing results at all when I try to piece together a BKK-HND-SFO itinerary (also not showing as available on AA). It also doesn't seem to be showing the HND-SFO-SEA routing options if I try searching HND-SEA by itself (at end of calendar it's not showing any JL-AS combinations, whereas it does offer these earlier, such as in Nov 23).
Will the Alaska Partner Reservations desk be able to piece together a 65k point itinerary BKK-HND-SFO-SEA if all the individual legs show availability or is this some weird "married segment rule" (which I don't really understand) or something? I already have my outbound booked for this trip via Aeroplan and really want to make this return booking work using Alaska miles when it's theoretically bookable here in a couple weeks.
Thanks in advance for any insight.
