Depends on what you consider firm.
I'm frankly annoyed AC bothered me with a 39 minute schedule change 3 months out which only extends a moderate layover. So far as I GAF, same thing.
Seasonal routes mostly only say they exist for the planned season.
My thinking is if they sold it, expect it to happen close enough.
Things happen, obviously, and depending on the exact particulars in play, within 14 or fewer days you may be entitled to cash.
Neither your origin or destination is obscure or likely to succumb to insurrection. It might take 5 hours early out of Atlanta to get AC to get you to Canada, or AC might get you to Auz 5 hours late. I would absolutely buy tickets expecting +- 18 hours flying to the other side of the planet, even a week out. And would plan accordingly.
