I'm trying to book a ORD-NRT flight (hopefully tomorrow for Feb 23) but I dont think it will be available. It lands at 3pm vs HND @ 845pm hence my desire to grab that flight.
Is anyone familiar with what may be a bit of a nuance?

Yeah I'm not seeing a particular rhyme or reason. I was hoping to fly out on Thursday March 2nd out of ORD as well and it seems like they've released flights out of ORD to one of the Tokyo airports every single Thursday except 3/2 which they just jumped over (just my luck).
