(The bokoing class thing is a nice bonus and not something I'd really expect from any airline. My wife is rebooked into Y fare both ways it seems. While I have been rebooked into B and U so f knows how the decide on the new booking class.)
I don't book with trip.com as I saw quite scary reviews.

The new booking class is based on the time of booking (so you can see which booking class you get if you look for revenue tickets).

Once again, no need to find out how the f it happens, just take it with a smile.
