It's not worth upgrading LIS-ZRH in my view but if you really wanted to upgrade the shorthaul segment why couldn't you do it online? You and your partner could have logged in separately to upgrade own shorthaul flight. I'm not sure if you can cancel the upgrades and have your eVoucers returned but at least you can try.
