From the other thread (but trying to keep this thread as the main one), I am able to replicate your error based on the steps you mentioned. What I then did was used the Executive Club App - not the BA App, that's different - to first find available dates - that worked first time - then to potentially select specific flights to Toronto. The latter stage needed a second go, since you end up logging into your account twice, If there is something specific you want to know then obviously I can check that for you.
The other thing you can try is if you have an Iberia+ account, to see what comes up that route.
This is a neat work around, thank you. But it only seems to work for ex-UK departures, and mine throws up the same error after the handoff to BA.com
