My flight into LHR was delayed for 4 hours and I wasn't able to make the connection. AA rebooked me on TK automatically while I was onboard the first flight and handed me the ticket at the gate right after I landed at LHR. AA agent told me to go to Terminal 2 to check in with TK and let TK handle the bags as the bags went into the AA service center directly after unloading from the plane. This is an odd experience as I know AA and TK are not on the same alliance but I can actually saw the TK flight added to the original AA PNR and on AA mobile app.
