When I look at the BA web site it still shows BA 49 for sale on that date but now it no longer shows it being operated by a 781. Any ideas what is happening here?
The 787-10 and any A350 operated flight never show up on BA’s booking engine and just shows up as “( )” when you view the flight details.

You can see for yourself, for example the BA238 BOS-LHR on 23/2/23 is being operated by a 787-10 and it won’t show the aircraft type.

Is there any short-haul sector that connects onto your BA49 or a short-haul sector on your refund in your booking? If so, it must be that short-haul sector that’s being operated by AY instead.

I’m leaning towards this being an erroneous BA email as, thus far, there is no public knowledge that has surfaced about Finnair being contracted for a wet lease for widebody operations.
