It's quite uncommon to have any weight limits on carry-on bags. I think it's more common in Asia and of course it's common on LCC but on most mainline airlines carry-on is purely limited by size and "you have to be able to lift it into the overhead bin". BA is same as nearly all other mainline carriers in this respect.
