There was a plan to completely overhaul the INTL check in hall, including extending the building backwards and building a consolidated security checkpoint (so you would clear in the centre and then turn left or right depending on which gate you will go out of).

From my SFO contacts this has been extremely deprioritised given the high cost and disruption. They spent money instead on redoing the current A and G checkpoints.

T3 West redevelopment will likely happen way before that. Pier H is still in the cards as well. And the domestic garage needing the be overhauled for seismic upgrades.
