Not much in the way of reviews for any of the budget properties, but it sounds like Aloft Osaka Dojima might be the best bet - However I wonder if this neighborhood is the best for tourists?

Another option is the Courtyard Shin Osaka which is convenient to the shinkansen but not much else I think.

Previously stayed at Intercon which we felt was a great location convenient to Umeda station & a nice mall, but I am sure there are other good options.
If you found the InterConti to be a great location Aloft will be at least Ok. It’s near enough to Osaka/Umeda Station in my opinion.

I have stayed at least once at every of the above mentioned options. I avoid both Honmachi hotels. The locations are not convenient. On top of that the cheapest rooms at the Moxy Honmachi have no windows, and I had once a quite unpleasant stay at the Courtyard Honmachi with a combination of service lapses and unapologetic attitude.

The Moxy Shin Umeda is often the cheapest Marriott option in town, still in walking distance to Osaka/Umeda station and has a nice enough breakfast for a Moxy. The rooms however are on the small side.

If all the hotels fall into an acceptable price range I’d chose either Aloft or Courtyard Shin Osaka. The pros of the Aloft are nicer rooms, more convenient for tourism and usually being a few thousand Yen cheaper than the Courtyard. The pros of the Courtyard Shin Osaka are better breakfast, lounge and more convenient if you arrive by Shinkansen with lots of luggage.
