Friday evening/night is also terrible. I'm guessing the bus takes I-70 across downtown? If so, then rush hour starts at 6:30am-9am then again from 2pm-6pm which can push up against the 2:40 block time.
Even taking I-70 across town only really adds 20 minutes or so during peak times unless there's a big accident. Once you're clear of the Mousetrap, it's clear sailing. The only part of the trip that REALLY gums up the works is mountain traffic, which admittedly, there can be a decent amount on Friday nights, but still less than weekend mornings based on my experience.
