To answer your question, UA isn't particularly likely to audit them if there is no further interaction with the ticket -- and if they do an audit, it'll likely be in the next couple of days. If it sticks around for a week beyond your last flight on that ticket, it's probably going to stay.
Asked another friend who was on the same flight, and he got the same number of PQPs as I did. He was on a separate PNR, so let's hope it's lifting the segment cap.
