I once had a Hawaiian Air card issued by Barclay somewhere about 2014-15. I closed the account after a year. I live in Hawaii now and am thinking about applying for the card again, but only if I can get the current SUB of 60K miles, especially since there is an upfront $99 fee.

Checking through the conditions, there is a statement that if an applicant has or had previously had a card in the program, the SUB would not be credited.

Wanted to know if there are any data points here, one way or the other.

If the situation appears negative, I am thinking of applying for one of the Capital One Venture cards (never had one), although Singapore is the only airline that I’d be interested in transferring points to, and none of the hotel transfer partners have any appeal.
