The Eddy Hotel 1913 ... 2023

The Eddy Hotel Tucson, Tapestry Collection by Hilton

Named after the hotel of the same name that grandfather J.E. O'Connell started in Helena, Montana, one hundred and ten years ago. Later he decided to follow his family's roots and he built a baking empire. Eddy's bread became an established name in the the Northwestern United States.

A grandson is now opening the new Eddy Hotel in Tucson, built from scratch, no conversion. Why in Tucson? He already owns several other hotels in that city.

The rate in points is between 50k (now) and 41k (summer). Rooms are between 200 (summer) and 300 dollars.

If you want to learn more about the history of Eddy's, this documentary from the Montana Historical Society is fun to watch. (After a short introduction it gets very interesting.)

(I'm running into this thing again, where a Youtube link disappears after posting. If it doesn't come back, look for a documentary on Youtube, called "Eddy O'Connell Remembered (part 1)".
