The only "problem" I have run into is American airlines where they make you use a credit card in the same name as the person who has the miles to purchase a reward ticket.
Since this person was our Player 3 I knew from years of using his miles for years that I needed a cc in his name to buy me a ticket so I put him on one of my accounts as an authorized user while he was still alive.
Many Visa/MC/Amex gift cards allow you to register the card with a name and address for online purchases - I think that would suffice if it were not practical to keep a 'real' CC in the deceased's name.
