As for whether BE tickets should have been included or not, the logical choice would be not to include them, but the reality of a social media post of one photo of a scared child sitting between two dodgy looking adults.....
The FAARA language specifically excepted seats with extra pitch and UA's press release refers to Preferred Seats -- note the capitalization which I take to be a specific reference to the PS offering (e.g. a more desirable Y seat) -- so I don't see an interpretation that would include E+, P+, or anything that's not currently a "white seat" or "white seat with black triangle" on a seat map.Again from my jaded POV this is a lot of PR noise for no significant actual change [perhaps an improvement because it will be more likely to see Y-wth-fam in Y seats rather than shuffled up to E+, etc.

I see children with dodgy looking adults all the time. Usually the child addresses them as "Mom" or "Dad"
