2. Airlines often/always have more inventory available for their own FF so I'd you are on UA's site that could explain it.
3. Try to call but be ready to use half a day with HUCA and potentially a gray hair or two in dealing with the notorious customer "service" 😉
4. Make sure you have all flights at hand so they don't have to look for them. That should better your chances.

It's not just TK, OZ is pretty crappy too.
Basically everyone tries to book *A award should have at least 5 options before calling so that if one doesn't work you can get the agent to check the others.
