Everyone else has had extremely positive things to say about the property. While it may not have met your standards, it does not mean issues are "obvious".

(As for your belief that hotel pools in the US are open until 9-10pm, Im sure some are. Others, like, for example the Westin Fort Lauderdale Beach, close at dusk. If late night swimming is important to you, I suggest you look into it before booking.)
