We're both elites on AA, so would normally have access to Main Cabin Extra.
Will we lose this benefit because it's booked through Alaska as an award? It normally works on revenue tickets.
I'm wondering if I'd be able to go into the reservation on aa.com and change it after it tickets?
I am sure you are aware you can book an award in Mileage Plan for someone else but did you know you can have companion profiles in Mileage Plan? With companion profiles, the first passenger will be "Myself" in a drop-down selection box. If you are not booking for yourself, simply click on the drop-down box and select a companion, even if that companions profile is you with an AA FF#.

The same holds true in AA when booking revenue/award tickets with your AS FF#.

Just keep in mind that during the AA booking process your FF# is validatd before you move onto seat selection. In Mileage Plan, your FF# isn't validated until purchase completion.
