Uh...let me weigh in here with my 3 cents worth. Airport authorities can be quite the challenging little empires to deal with. Having some experience on the subject, especially at one particular airport which most everyone on this forum has flown in and out of at least once, I can tell you that things aren't always as easy as AA wishing things to be so. When the first self service devices were delivered, that had an AA logo on the side. Airport authority made AA take them off because they did not fit in with the desired decorum of the terminal. No, I am not making this up. That's just one example.

T Mobile has installed wireless access at some AA gate areas (I'm not talking about DFW, where the airport authority has wired the whole airport), I'm talking about specifically at the AA gate areas of some airports where the airport authorities would allow it. I can't tell you every one of them, but BWI, ORF and GSO come to mind. You can look on the T Mobile Hotspot website to find other locations. So, there is some effort out there. Whether it will be enough to get every airport wired or not, I don't know.

But don't just assume that airport authorities bend over backwards to accomodate airline requests. Trust me, they don't. Even where AA has more than a few flights.
