Disagree on this. The hotel doesn’t like to fill these rooms. I know many people that booked these base rooms on cash or awards and always received a one cat upgrade with no status.
In general, you will only find yourself in this room over Xmas, NYE, MG etc when the property is at 100%.
Deapite the issues there is no comparison. Capella posted a photo of their pool and it’s entirely indoors. Will be a very contrasting experience.
Reasonable people can disagree but I have never understood why people are so enamored of the Park Hyatt. It's great for a once in a lifetime trip if you have one of the top suites. Otherwise it's an expensive hotel that is uniquely situated but is removed from anything worth doing in Sydney. And I can guarantee you that the hotel puts people on certain corporate rates in those rooms. Hotels are in the busines of maximizing revenue. One of our corporate rates books into that category.
