I actually prefer Expedia over certain airlines, for the 4-day cancellation policy on the weekends, the clear showing of the booking class, and sometimes the ability to mix itins from different airlines.
Just because they are big and "reputable" doesn't mean you won't get screwed, whether by incompetence or malice, resulting in an uphill fight, especially when it comes to really bad outsourced customer service.
