Depending on how soon you're flying, TPE would be way more convenient from a total trip duration perspective given there's a lot more flights from PVG to TPE than TYO. The only offerings I'm seeing in the next few months from NH / JL require an airport transfer from NRT to HND, while both BR / CI are offering trips with ~3 hour connections through TPE, so it seems a bit strange that NH would even be up for consideration for you trip? Also, those routings would seem to mostly put you on day flights out of TPE / TYO, so the meals on the night service would also seem to be moot?
