For getting approved for PreCheck on flights, does anyone know how PreCheck sorts it out for those who did what I did and those who actually used the middle name field? In other words, does PreCheck combine first and middle names anyways, so it doesn't matter in what field you entered the middle name in PreCheck and when purchasing tickets as long as the info is there?
I can't answer your exact question, but I can tell you what I know. In my case, my middle name is in the middle name field on my passport and NEXUS card. When I first got NEXUS, I started putting my middle name on airline tickets to make sure there was a match for PreCheck. Then I read someone on FT saying that the middle name wasn't necessary, so I tried leaving it off. I've been leaving it off ever since, using only first name and last name, and have gotten PreCheck every time. So it seems that the middle name doesn't matter for PreCheck. However, I would guess that first name does need to match and that because you put your middle name in the first name field for GE, your tickets are going to have to include it also, but that's just a guess.
I am wondering, though, why is your middle name not in the middle name field on your passport? I think I would try to fix that on my next renewal if it were me.
