In my opinion transfering your MR points to Marriott Bonvoy makes the most sense for Canadians looking to redeem hotels since you can easily top off your Bonvoy points with the Amex Bonvoy personal and business. Your wife can then open the same cards. I've found Bonvoy points to be especially valuable in Asia and don't forget with every four rewards nights you get a fifth night free.
